21 January 2021 COVID-19 vaccinations How long does it take to get the COVID-19 vaccination notifications into the patient records in EMIS Web?

EMIS have informed us that "data is collected by NHS Digital at 22:00 each day, comprising all vaccination data received in that last 24 hour period. NHS Digital send us this data the following day and we will perform a daily upload of these vaccination notifications during that afternoon."

13 May 2020 Registration data status The daily GPSoC IM1 EMIS extract does not include registration status data, which is key in working out a list of registered patients at an EMIS Web GP practice. The daily extract includes the registration date and registration type (e.g. Regular/GMS) but, without the registration status, it’s not possible to match registered patient counts between EMIS Web and DDS because EMIS Web factors the current registration status into its calculation of registered patients. Similarly, the regular extract doesn’t include the 'original term' recorded against each record in the CareRecord_Observation file. EMIS Web allows a free-text term to be recorded against any observation, effectively overwriting the term from the clinical code selected. Without this free-text term, a number of observations are apparently meaningless when viewing a patient record. Ongoing
13 November 2020 EMIS update - missing EMIS clinical codes On the 30th October EMIS released an update to their system which provided us with a large extract of missing EMIS clinical codes, effecting circa 1.5 million records across all the EMIS practices in the DDS. This has meant that all the EMIS extracts that have been processed by the DDS, are now being re-processed where the missing codes have been identified, to apply these missing codes to the data. This has in turn had a knock-on effect with our inbound data processing queues and has resulted in a back log of daily deltas in the queues waiting to be processed across multiple practices for TPP, EMIS and Vision. LHS are doing all that they can to process the data through the queues as quickly as possible. Ongoing
26 August 2020 EMIS Notification of Essential Bulk Extracts Maintenance this 28th-31st August The following is a notification we have received from EMIS Health regarding their bulk extract service for maintenance this weekend 28th-31st August. This will affect customers using a Discovery Data Service Remote Subscriber Database. Please review the notification below and contact your Account Manager if you have any queries.

Notification from EMIS Health as follows:

EMIS are required to undertake essential maintenance on the underlying architecture supporting Bulk Extract Interface in order to maintain service performance and availability, and keep within the boundaries of their support agreements with vendors.

This work is being planned to take place urgently over this coming Bank Holiday weekend, with the expectation that this will minimise disruption. The work is expected to take up to four days whilst we work with the system vendors (Microsoft and HPe) carrying out the maintenance.

As a result, EMIS do not expect to generate any extracts from 28th August – 31st August inclusive. When extract generation restarts on 1st September, there will be a risk of a reduced service and suspension of bulk and rebulks for up to 1 week whilst the extract servers catch up with the data processing. No data will be lost.

EMIS apologise for the disruption that this may cause, it is unfortunately unavoidable and wholly necessary to ensure future service continuity.

We will send a further communication once the work has completed.

22 January 2021 Strategic Reporting Extracts - essential maintenance TPP have informed us that they are performing some essential maintenance work which may affect the Strategic Reporting Extracts in your area. This work may cause your next delta extract to be larger than usual and therefore may include data which has already been included in your previous extract. It may also cause the extract to only contain data up to 14:00, however any subsequent data will be included in your next extract. Ongoing
22 January 2021 Reference data release - causing delays TPP have performed a reference data release today. This means that the SRCode table has been scheduled for a full build; this will cause a major delay in the downloading of data to the SystmOne Gateway, and similar delays uploading the extracts to DDS.
