To ensure that the Discovery Data Service is up to date, and to maintain the data flow, we rely on CCG leads to update us of any changes to the services that publish their CCG data into the Discovery Data Service.Send updated service information to datasupport@endeavourhealth.org and update the Data Processing Agreements, Data Sharing Agreements and relevant projects in Data Sharing Manager to reflect the change.

Supplier migration

Please supply Discovery with the supplier ODS code, service name, current supplier and reference number, new supplier and reference number, migration date, and a service contact so that Discovery can place an order with the new supplier. Note: Data will still be received into the Discovery Data Service until the service migrates to the new supplier.

Service merger

Please supply Discovery with the supplier ODS code, service name, and reference number, and provide information on the merger service and the commencement date.If the service they are merging with is already publishing data into the Discovery Data Service, we will receive the additional data from that service. If the merger service is not publishing data into the Discovery Data Service, but want to do so, a new order will need to be placed with the supplier. Please contact us for more information.

The service, as a data controller, need to inform us if they want the existing data held in the Discovery Data Service to be destroyed. We will destroy any data we have from our system and provide a certificate of destruction to the service contact. If a practice closes and the patients move to a new practice that publishes data into the Discovery Data Service, we will receive those patients’ data through their new practice.

Service opt out

If a service no longer wants to publish data into the Discovery Data Service, please supply Discovery with the supplier ODS code, service name and reference number, the service opt out date, reason for opting out, and a service contact. The service, as a data controller, need to inform us if they want the existing data held in the Discovery Data Service to be destroyed, and any subscriber access to the data to be revoked. We will destroy any data we have from our system and provide a certificate of destruction to the service contact. Depending on the system supplier, the service may need to perform some actions on their IT system. Please speak to your system supplier for more information.
